  1. Well, we’ve spent our last night in this place. Moving van is here this arvo – then we’re off to ADYJ & Nelly’s and on Monday I’m off to Melbourne. Packing is nearly done.

Hard to believe. I’m sure I’ll be excited once I’m not so exhausted :-)

Really going to miss this place – fantastic house, but the symbolism of a three-car crash outside yesterday afternoon (that soaked up a valuable hour) wasn’t missed :-)

  2. Well, we’re getting rid of stuff. I got rid of Cha to Bridgetown for a couple of days, then got rid of stuff.

About 8 x 55l plastic crates of books around to the op shop, 6 x shopping bags of cricket books to my mate at the WACA, a crate of videos and toys to the op shop.

And throwing stuff away! Oh, I’m good. Filled the (250l) bin for Wednesday, then filled it again for collection on the other side of the road on Thursday @ about 6:15am. (I deserve it for all the early morning wakeups they’ve given me.)

Making a couple of trips a day with the crates to the opshop. Man I’m efficient. Getting rid of shoes tonight, it seems. I’ve got some really nice shoes (from Rivers) which I’ll get to wear in Melbourne as I won’t be able to slope around in shorts and joggers :-)

  3. The old days, indeed

Did a photoshoot for Adrian’s Barbershop Quartet today, out at the Uni of WA.

We got some good shots, but I wasn’t thrilled. I think the camera needs a really good clean, and I’m buying the stuff for it this week. Shame they wanted the pics this weekend.

    Oh yeah, go boys

Overall, it was VERY nerve-wracking. I was terrified that something wouldn’t work, or something would go wrong. In the end it didn’t, apart from stupidities on my part (too high ISO, etc, at the beginning) but I’m seriously not a great photographer. Maybe not even a good one. Mind you, harsh summer sun and black shirts are a TERRIBLE combination. Tough for wedding photographers…

Still, I guess practice is the key, as it tends to be with most things.

  6. Just had an accident out the front, and from the screaming I thought
someone had been killed. No, just a middle-eastern origin woman going
spare because she couldn’t get the back door open (the only part hit,
at pretty low speed) to get her kid out of the kid seat. Didn’t seem
to be able to think about going around to the other side to achieve
her aims. Deadset. Then another woman from the same part of the world
started screaming at one of the other cars involved about “you go too
    fast! You a idiot!”.

    <sigh>

  7. It’s the Sonshine Christmas dinner tonight, and we’re off to it. Should be good - a four-course meal at Bella Vita in Northbridge, and the menu looks to be fine.

I’m not a fan of going into Perth/Northbridge, but it should be a good thing to be at. Interesting, anyway. And it won’t be late, which is good.

  8. According to Ch7 News tonight, the delaying tactic in the Upper House in relation to Daylight Saving was condemned by all sides of politics.

Then they showed John D’Orazio (booted out of the Labor Party in disgrace), and the Premier (who leads the Labor Party).

    Yep, that’s the whole spectrum…
