Poor old Cha. This is with the 5” snoot on the 550EX. Trust me, a 5” snoot is VERY directional. VERY VERY directional. The strobe was about 2m from Cha, slightly camera right.
Next snoot is going to be a lot shorter. This will be great for a hair light, though.

For once, weeding was not entirely pointless. I had been clearing up the garage, which morphed into some weeding. Out on the road were some blokes putting down some new roadmarkings. I headed over and had a chat, and they were very helpful - even lending me a safety vest.

They use a blower to clean the surface as much as possible, then lay the markings down, then use the blowtorch to seal it down on the road.

I shot a variety of apertures and times, up to 5 seconds. Also used the flash (550EX) a fair bit, usually at about 1/2 or 1/4 power.

    Good fun.

Setup shot for the set on Matty. We changed the flash levels, etc. across the shoot.

My niece Abbi. Lots wrong with this pic - umbrella on the right (shoot-through) is too bright, and I didn’t frame it as well as I could have.

    Ah well.

Shot this went I went around to the Post Office to get a package. Came out of the PO and saw this pull up, and thought “you beauty”. I could see the 300 preset in my mind when I was shooting it, with the brick walls behind it.

West Coast Eagles chairman Mark Barnaba releasing the Eagles internal report into the club. It was a hot day, and the TV lights were hot, but I didn’t get the shots I should have, with him looking totally sweaty and wiping it away. I didn’t get them because I was conscious of shooting for the site (therefore no portrait, only landscape) but I should have got them anyway.

We used a different shot on the AFL site.

    Shot with the Sigma 70-200.
